Perhaps you’ve noticed – I like talking about PROFINET and PROFIBUS. Sometimes here, sometimes on the road. I’m just back from on the road in Seattle and the first PROFINET one-day training class of 2013 (with 10 more PROFINET and 7 more PROFIBUS to go). The material is new, revised, re-ordered, and more detailed, so it was interesting to get feedback after the class:
Overall one of the best seminars I have attended. Kudos.
I thought you and Torsten did a great job presenting the material. With enough detail to be valuable, yet simple enough that even I could understand it.
A couple folks mentioned the “great vendor support.” Having vendors in the room to show real products is a big plus, I think. Like this comprehensive demo from Phoenix Contact:
On the downside, someone thought a couple of the videos were “lame” and some thought we covered some topics too thoroughly and some not thoroughly enough. What can I say? We strive for balance.
I am not on the road in Nuremberg this week, but the PI booth is there at Embedded World. We’re there showing a multitude of methods for adding PROFINET to automation devices:
Thanks to Tom Weingartner of Innovasic for sending me this picture of the booth which features the handsome Wolfgang Schroeder who demonstrated new PROFINET features in a previous post: SPS 2012: PROFINET Faster. If you are not at Embedded World either, you can at least see some of those embedded solutions in SPS 2012: PROFINET Chips.
After more one-day training classes, I’m headed to Hanover for the Hanover Fair. PI is co-sponsoring the Field Communication Lounge again:
The Fair is April 12-16 and the lounge is in a new location this year in Hall 9, Stand D76. Stop by, see the technologies, and say “hello” if you’re there.
