SPS Drives in Nuremberg: busy and crowded – the crowds on the first day of the giant automation show started early and kept going all day. The aisles were crowded. The PI booth was full all day. PI is PROFIBUS and PROFINET International, the global association of regional organizations like the PTO.
PROFINET was everywhere. There were many new products. Many graced the PROFINET wall in the booth and many more were in the booths of major suppliers – even some of the suppliers associated with other networks.
There was a larger presence of IO-Link. I blogged about IO-Link from Hanover Fair earlier this year.
I enjoyed the opportunity to re-connect with colleagues from the PI Support Center and ran into many former colleagues from companies past.
More later including news from tomorrow morning’s PI press conference, but now I’m off to a dinner meeting with PI colleagues.
