The snow fell in our last 3 one-day training event cities on the day of the class, Mike A tells me. Mike has been on a whirlwind tour to Denver, Calgary, and Louisville in the last week and a half. Despite the bad weather the crowds were good. Due to an ice storm today Louisville had the most no-shows, but still a good crowd.
The Denver crowd was the largest at over 100 thanks to local distributor (and PTO member), Crum Electric.
Calgary was an interesting crowd – only 4 of the 70+ attendees were current users of PROFIBUS. The rest were learning as they considered a change from point-to-point wiring or from a competing process fieldbus. We had an end user presentation. He said he would rather work on a project than talk about it, but he would talk about it anyway. He felt PROFIBUS was easier to use than the competition: “It just works.” He was impressed by the local support and the multi-vendor nature of PROFIBUS.
The red carpet premiere of Safety: Uncover the Competitive Advantage, the new educational movie about the business benefits of an integrated safety network caused Mike B to stop in Chicago on his way back from Germany. Of course, Mike is one of the stars of the movie, talking about PROFIsafe. Mike was impressed by the movie – its content, its quality, its focus. Even though the movie was sponsored by Siemens, it is no commercial. It really is educational. View the trailer and order your free tickets at www.safetythemovie.com.
