PROFINET goes Wireless

“We used PROFINET predominantly because it was simple, straightforward, and everyone understands basic Ethernet connectivity…” is how this application story starts. It then goes one to describe how ‘leaky coaxial cable’ was used to wirelessly control automated carts. “As a single communications standard, it will work with PLCs, remote I/O, HMIs, and field devices. It is a huge benefit to use PROFINET everywhere so we have the same media and
connectors throughout.”
